TAKKUUK is an immersive audio-visual installation conceived and produced by Ruth Daniel, created in collaboration with renowned Northern Irish electronic duo BICEP (Andy Ferguson and Matthew McBriar), visual artist Zak Norman, and filmmaker Charlie Miller. The work explores the lives, communities, and challenges facing Indigenous artists across the Arctic Region, pairing a powerful visual installation with an original soundtrack featuring an extraordinary ensemble of Indigenous vocalists including Katarina Barruk, Andachan, Sebastian Enequist (Sound of the Damned), Tarrak, Nuija, Niilas, and Silla. The music was recorded in 2024 by Detroit-based producer Matthew Dear at Iceland Airwaves festival in Reykjavik, in the studio of Árni Árnason of The Vaccines.

TAKKUUK premiered on the giant floor-to-ceiling wrap-around screens at Outernet London, one of the UK's most visited cultural attractions, before going on to tour events and institutions around the world. Developed through In Place of War's EarthSonic programme, the project stands as a landmark example of how music, art, and Indigenous storytelling can be woven together to create something genuinely moving and politically resonant. The accompanying soundtrack was released on 25th July 2024.
